Coming along nicely. Slowly, but nicely.

Hello! I have to start getting this wee blog going, nobody gonna do it but me right?

This is something I started over the weekend. I came across this amazing artist Ann Wood, who makes the most magical and whimsical pirate ships, castles, and wee birdies amongst many other treats! So of course I was inspired to make something just like it for my self! My very own pirate ship!

I have never worked with paper mache and I have to say I love this new discovery! We are getting along swimmingly so far and I will show the finished work as I want to hang it by the window facing the water! I will let you know how it turns out! I am enjoying it so far!

I want my wee ship to be authentic so I am added thick draw string which I braided. I will stick it somewhere on it when it is painted.
For my sails I am using scrap materials. These pieces are from an old pillow case!

since I like to braid and have too much time on my hands I did this as well

I will stick it on somewhere when it is painted.

Here is another piece in process for my stall. My hot air balloons.

Of course this is no where near finished this picture draws up some very clear health and safety hazards! I am also toying with the idea of LED light bulbs within the hot air balloons, but of course, I am researching all the health and safety whiz, before even putting it on my stall. I might start some paper mache ones!

I also had a go at salt dough clay, but in terms of durability, I think I will have to step up to clay itself.

I loved making this witches hat.

So that's filling up my wee room where the sea lays ahead.

I am also coming along nicely with my wee terrariums. These are another new found favourite of mine and I think they are just lovely. The work is minimal and they take care of themselves.

So I think am am ready to start filling up my assortment of jars and have wee gardens in jars all about the place!

Hope all is well in your world and I will be showing you finished results hopefully in the very near future! Bye for now!
